I am Adriana Maldonado, MEP of the PSOE and a member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament. In the 2019 European Elections I was chosen to occupy a seat in Europe.
In the European institution I develop my work in the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and in the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE).
I am also in charge of the Secretariat of European and International Policy in the direction of the Socialist Party of Navarra and in the Socialist Youth of Navarra and Spain.
I was born in Pamplona in 1990, I graduated in International Business Administration and Management from the Public University of Navarra where I was a member of the university debate club. I was also part of the Erasmus exchange program of the HUB University in Brussels. During my stay in Belgium I had the opportunity to meet many young Europeans and I realized that although we belong to different countries, we are not really that different.
Upon my return to Spain, I expanded my training in Madrid by completing a Master in International Economics at the Autonomous University and another at the European Institute on the European Union.
Although I have worked for six years as a strategic risk consultant and tax advisor in an American consultant, in parallel I began to get involved in this exciting world of politics. In this sense, together with other young people we formed With Copy to Europe (CC / Europe) and in 2011 I joined the Socialist Youth.
Although, as you will see, I am a training economist, after more than five years as a private sector risk consultant, I have decided to dedicate myself 100% to politics to work for a better future.
“THE QUESTION IS NOT MORE EUROPE, BUT A BETTER EUROPE”
Around 70% of European legislation has a direct impact on the citizenship of all countries. And therefore, from the European Parliament, we work to bring closer and closer to society all the policies we develop and that affect all citizens to create a more social and closer Europe. Policies such as the CAP, the Digital Single Market … are transcendental issues that have an impact at the state, regional and local levels.
In Europe, great challenges have been achieved, such as free movement. This is freedom. But there are still many issues to move forward. The issue is not more Europe, but a better Europe.
“SPAIN HAS TO PLAY A FUNDAMENTAL ROLE OF GREATER WEIGHT IN THE EUROPEAN INSTITUTIONS”
In this IX Legislature the European Socialists work, among many other issues, to give more legal certainty to our companies, that feminism is one of the main values within the Union and to offer all those young people who during the crisis suffered emigration in our country, the opportunity to return generating quality employment.
Spain has to play a fundamental role of greater weight in European institutions and in all decision-making bodies. Our goal is to give voice to Spain in all the relevant issues that affect our country.
“MY CHALLENGE IS THAT THE VOICE OF THE NAVARROS AND THE NAVARRAS IS LISTENED IN THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT”
For me it is an honor to bring not only the voice of Spanish socialists but also Navarrese socialism to European institutions. I am also in Europe to be the voice of the claims of the Autonomous Communities like Navarra.
Since 1994, the Navarrese socialists were not present in the European Parliament and, therefore, my goal is to give voice to my community and that this is influential in the decision making that affects us.
I would like this page to become a meeting point where we can talk directly about the parliamentary activity that all socialists develop in Brussels. In addition to informing you of everything that happens, either from the Belgian capital or from Strasbourg. My ambition is to improve Europe with you.
